Ornithology in Syracuse - Official Sponsor of Italicum.it®

In the splendid setting of the Parish of San Corrado in Syracuse, at Via Luigi Foti 1, perched on a cliff overlooking the sea, immersed in a Mediterranean landscape of rare beauty, the first specialist ornithological competition for the Erythrure and Gouldian Finch bird breeds will take place from September 25 to 28, 2025. This competition, open to all birds in both categories up to 2 years of age, and to hybrids of any age, is sponsored by the Municipality of Syracuse and is called "I Colori del Sud." The jury will be composed of official members of the CC.TT.NN. (National Council of Birds), who will judge the specimens and award prizes of both a nutritional and ornithological nature to the best.

The city of Syracuse is one of Sicily's pearls nestled in the Mediterranean. With a Baroque tradition, it was founded directly by the ancient Greeks when they settled the island in 734 BC. The event will give participants from all over Italy the opportunity to admire the city's wonders, such as the Greek Theater, the Baroque Cathedral of Ortigia, and the Ear of Daionisio.
